Blood Donation Camps

The college in association with the Department of Health Services has been being organising Blood Donation camps on every birth anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya since 2015. A large number of students are motivated for this noble cause. A committee is constituted for the successful implementation of the programme. The aim of the camp is to encourage the youth to donate blood as the region suffers from a perennial shortage of blood for treatment.

Teacher’s Day Celebration

“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara. Guru Sakshath Parambrahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namaha.” ” Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-next” To mark the great Teacher & Philosopher, Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan’s Birthday, Teachers Day is observed and celebrated at College every year on September 05. Both the students & staff of College gather joyfully for the celebration. Last year the function was inaugurated with lamp lighting by the Principal Dr Awadhesh Kumar Mishra. The program commenced with seeking blessing from god by Saraswati Vandana, followed by welcome speech by Dr Hansraj Gupta who highlighted the importance of teachers in one’s life. The Principal in his speech said that the college is known for imparting value education to the students. He also added that the significance of the function is to show respect to our Gurus who dispel darkness and ignorance around us. Teachers give light to students. They sacrifice their life for the upliftment of the students by imparting not only knowledge but also wisdom. Knowledge can be obtained through various media like books, novels, newspapers and internet. But students can acquire wisdom only through teachers. As wig in the lamp, the teachers sacrifice themselves to brighten the lives of the students. Thus the Principal appreciated all the teachers for their hard work, dedication and commitment. The programme ended with dedication for the teachers by the messages and distribution of gifts to the teachers. Teachers have a positive disposition towards the whole event. Mr. Shubham Sharma, president of the Student’s Council proposed vote of thanks.

Students’Seminar

A three-day workshop on the topic ‘संस्कृत पर आश्रित है भारतीय संस्कृति’ under the aegis of the UGC was organized in the college from September 20, 2017 to September 22, 2017. Pt. Ramakrishna Shastri, regional organisation secretary of Bharat Sanskrit Parishad was the keynote speaker. Speaking on the topic ‘संस्कृत भाषा का संरक्षण तथा इसके क्रियान्वयन मे हमारा दायित्व’, he stressed the significance of all Indians to work for popularising and propagating Sanskrit. Mr Sanjay Chawla, Principal Govt. Sanskrit College, Bonli (Sawai Madhopur) applauded the efforts done by Sanskrit Bharti in propagating Sanskrit all over the world. He called Sanskrit a scientific language that has the potential of minting new words in concurrence with the developments in the corpus of knowledge. In all twenty one students of the college presented their research papers on various sub topics during the three days and they were well deliberated upon. The technical sessions were conducted by Dr. Hansraj Gupta. Dr Awadhesh Mishra, Principal applauded the commendable scholarly presentations and gave away certificates of appreciation to the participants during the valedictory session on September 22, 2017.

International Yoga Day

The International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June at the college campus to usher in peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day; this was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of this discipline. The session was attended by the staff and students with the Principal leading from the front. The Instructor, Mr Ramhet Meena, PET, started the session with a prayer and explained how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The participants thereafter performed various Yoga asans between 0730 hrs to 0840 hrs. All yoga asans were introduced/ explained before being performed. Finally, the session ended with meditation and prayer.

Extension’ Lectures

To give exposure to latest developments in academics, extension lectures are organized from time to time in the college. Distinguished educationists, social workers are invited to deliver lectures on the current issues. Students and faculty members get acquainted with the latest issues and Current trends.

Educational Tour

In today’s educational system, the importance of educational tour for college students can’t be overlooked. Educational tours provide students with a great opportunity to learn in an informal environment, while building long-lasting relationships with other students and teachers. It’s even more important for college students, who are setting out in an unfamiliar world to grow professionally. Depending on the interests of the students different kinds of field tours focusing on history, heritage, nature etc. are organised almost every year.

National Seminar

The institution hosted a national level seminar sponsored by the University Grants Commission for a period of three days ,i.e., from 25th September to 27th September on the topic, ’Human Rights and their Violation.’ The co-ordinator of the seminar Dr Hansraj Gupta gave the welcome address and presented a brief overview of the seminar. The organising secretary Dr. Rashmi Agrawal elucidated how necessary it was to provide such a platform where such issues could be discussed, introspected and redressed. The seminar was chaired by Prof. P.K.Dashora, Vice Chancellor, University of Kota. He addressed the various issues related to human rights and emphasised the importance of duties which would help to safeguard the rights of all eventually. The various dignitaries present at the seminar included Justice Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Chairman of the bar council Mr. Naveen Sharma, who illuminated the gathering with the various legislations related to human rights and a plethora of cases. The 84 paper presenters included students, research scholars, professors and head of departments from different institutions throughout the country. The seminar concluded with the distribution of certificates by the director of the seminar , Dr Awadhesh Kumar Mishra.

Functional Book Bank

The regular students promoted to higher classes are stimulated to deposit their text books into the book bank set up by the college. These books are greatly useful for the poor students studying in the Shastri first, second and third year. The librarian is designated in charge of the committee constituted for this purpose.

Tobacco Free Premises

The college premises have been declared tobacco free. No college employee or student or visitor is allowed to consume tobacco or to smoke within the precincts of the college. The college main gate welcomes all with bold inscription boards declaring “No smoking” and “Tobacco Free Area”. The members of the staff occasionally edify the students against the detrimental nature of such addictions.

Inscribing Inspirational Quotes

Under this initiative, inspirational quotes complied from religious and historical texts like the Upanishads have been inscribed on the outer walls of the library, classrooms and the college building. These axiom and moral quotes go a long way in inspiring and motivating the students to make them glorious citizens of tomorrow.

Plantation Campaign

Taking up a massive tree plantation program, more than 200 trees have been planted in the college premises with the consolidated efforts of the staff and the students. A team comprising selected staff and students takes up the responsibility of taking care and watering the plants regularly. Plantation camps are held from time to time highlighting the significance of environment conservation. Besides, the students are motivated to work for promoting plantation drives in their villages.
